The width of roads in the park are adequate, but the problem is the drivers charge through the intersections and into and out of sights without care. The simple solution is to go deep into areas that require a turn, and then turn the steering wheel to the stop. It is no wonder many parks are installing boulder size rocks on the corners and posts that can't be knocked down when inept drivers cut corners without being careful.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-25407572726377503902014-01-07T07:06:00.003-08:002014-01-07T07:06:41.171-08:00Our soiree/get-together in the desert!I love the word soiree, it just sounds neat! We will once again gather at N 33.58709 W 114.23138 out in the desert. If you have some wood that you can bring for the bonfire, that would be great, but do come with plenty of water, propane and empty black and grey tanks. We will have a pot-luck dinner and visits to the tent city with all the RV stuff is in order. We look forward to seeing many of you!
The person who tailgates is truly unsafe at any speed! How can I be clearer, especially for those who are always in a hurry. If you hear me at any of my seminars, you will hear me say the following. "If we don't have time now in our lives, when will we?" -- EnoughGeorgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-17668759186674244382013-03-31T09:03:00.001-07:002013-03-31T09:08:46.906-07:00The "little" RV companyOn occasion, we come to Lancaster California, and I stop by the sales facility for Rexhall RV. This is a fascinating RV manufacturer that has carved out a niche in this somewhat less congested RV market. This little company has some of the neatest innovations in their coaches, and if we were buying, I would seriously consider Rexhall. You will recognize their class A right away by the distinctive front front cap that extends back to the first slide. Now the other noteworthy features. I noted the use of many gasoline engines powering pushers in their 37' models that have either the gas engine OR diesel option.

I have a little trouble imaging a large class A using a gas engine with 450 foot lb of torque. Another feature is two full length slides on either side of the vehicle. This makes the 37' feel like a much larger vehicle. Continuing, the slides are one piece molded fiber glass making a sturdy single unit. Now the really neat patented feature. They have made the slides retract uniquely into the upper body of the coach making the slide height greater than on other conventionally designed motorhomes. If you get around Lancaster, do stop in. You'll be impressed! One additional comment. They have some really impressive adaptions for the handicapped! -- EnoughGeorgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-55456935446264524142013-03-02T11:33:00.001-08:002013-03-02T11:33:28.888-08:00Newmar Rally - DuQuoin Illinois

He had twenty some years of driving a semi with no accidents, dents, scratches, or even a traffic ticket. As I recall his first name was Tom, and he retired with this unblemished driving record.

So many people we meet have an "attitude" that they can handle their rig with no problem based on their years of experience driving a variety of vehicles over the years. Many are blasé about driving their new RV until the moment they knock something down, or until the first damage is done. I have two pieces of advice. First, drive slow, and sometimes slower, and sometimes STOP! Encountering a bad situation can usually be remedied if you can back up, or at least assessing the bad situation. My second piece of advice is, get help in handling any large rig. We maintain the largest and best RV driving school in the world, but if not us, get a capable professional to show you "the ropes". Everything can be fixed or replaced for the most part, but we don't need the stress of damaging our dream RV! -- Enough
Plans are beginning for the trip to the desert. The excitement begins! Plans are still uncertain, and Valerie is worried as we get plans underway. Tentatively we will be there on or about January 19th and we will be there until roughly January 29th. We will let everybody know the specifics as we get everything together.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-29421695491017538182012-10-11T11:27:00.002-07:002012-10-11T11:27:20.366-07:00SeminarsAfter this year, I can honestly say my seminars are getting better, and the seminar with the most overflow audiences has been the seminars for women. The seminar was originally intended to deal with women's concerns about the RV life style, but has evolved into making sure women know they can handle their RV.

My new seminar on backing and cornering has also been well received. During the seminar I hear all kinds of stories about dents and accidents doing these activities. It will now be a permanent part of the seminar schedule.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-14578722539204174772012-07-31T10:13:00.000-07:002012-07-31T10:13:48.106-07:00I've been away...Sadly, I have been busy with other activities, thus no postings. We are now into our eighth month of ownership of the RV School LLC, and in most respects enjoying it. We are having a "down year" with business off quite a bit due to the economy and $4 fuel prices. We continue to be optimistic about the future.
We have now put on seminars at FMCA, Good Sam's, and Escapee rallies. We now have more instructors scattered across the country, and all doing really well based on responses and feedback from the students. We have some instructors just coming on line, and looking for their first lesson.
Florida, New Mexico, Minnesota, Indiana, and the Northeast are waiting for instructors. If you know of individuals who might be a good instructor, please let us know.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-28200228293441322862012-03-01T08:48:00.002-08:002012-03-01T08:51:29.354-08:00Off to Gypsy Journal Rally - YumaGreat stay in Phoenix and enjoyed the hospitality at the Meridian Resort. The choir was outstanding, and the Polish priest was witty and his homily seemed relevant to our lives. The church has beautifully grounds, and great seating even for midnight mass that was held at 10 PM. We also attended St. Martha church, and it was interesting with many Asian masses.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-30749008573637405482011-12-27T07:11:00.000-08:002012-01-03T07:01:45.075-08:0011 Year Old BritI had my own computer business for 18 years, and all of a sudden, I meet an 11 year old kid who is teaching me features on my iPhone! We are in Sarasota Florida, away from our kids and many close relatives, but were invited to join a cousin and her kids for a Christmas meal. An uncle and aunt were there, and many of their kids. We walked in the door to hand shakes, hugs, and "what can we get you to drink". I have contended for years that I have some of the greatest relatives, and once again it was affirmed as we felt so welcomed. I hope all of you who might read this have great relatives like mine who always make sure that though you contribute to the chaos you also are "family". A belated "Merry Christmas!".Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943822431647815899.post-32382510305755023052011-12-24T05:17:00.000-08:002011-12-24T05:34:10.392-08:00One down
On Thursday 12/22 I put on my first seminar on behalf of the RV School. Went well, small turnout, but a good "dry run" for the future seminars. Several "thank you's" and "well done" make me feel good. Well, the ants were up and down my whole body!! I have bites up and down my legs, and it took an hour to get them off me. Just little black ants. I even found them in my hat. Today we went to Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sarasota. Wow! The priest was one of the most witty guys we've heard. His homily was based on "love", and that should be the spirit of any Christmas. Well done, and with a two singers that I wish I would have recorded. They were great! Incidentally the priest is from Poland, and his accent made me really pay attention as he talked.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07337129636696216630noreply@blogger.com0
